The CDC is a Community Cultural Center and Artistic Headquarters for Community Groups. There, rehearsals for shows and theatrical research take place, as well as musical rehearsals and concerts, capoeira classes and performances, meetings of the NA (Narcotics Anonymous) recovery group, music and theater classes, physical conditioning and personal defense classes, dance classes, theater shows, and festivals. Moreover, the theatrical pieces of the CDC groups have been awarded and recognized nationally. This is the case with the performances “Marruá” by Grupo Parlendas (CPT and Miriam Muniz award), and “A Saga do Menino Diamante” by Coletivo Dolores (Shell and CPT award).
